Monitor literacy and basic education

Collection and analysis of data and facts regarding the levels of literacy and basic education.

 

Background
There is currently no exhaustive, reliable database detailing the range of literacy courses and courses for basic education. The available data and information or databanks are not linked and individual files are not regularly updated furthermore a mixture of systems are used for the collection and storage of such data.

 

Beginning /procedure

For the afore mentioned data related predicament the project "Monitor literacy and basic education" is here. In agreement with the project partners, a full inventory of all available data will be collected. A research design plan and surveying method for data and facts regarding literacy and basic education will be developed in a comprehensive nationwide poll and applied throughout the course of the project.

 

Aims
The goal of the project "Monitor literacy and basic education" besides the construction and establishment of a data monitoring system is the centralised user-friendly provision of data and analyses in an online platform. It is the intention of the project to achieve clarity through the improvement of the data-situation thus making allowance for research, policy planning of education, further educational facilities and preparation of participants.

"Monitor literacy and basic education" is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF). The project is part of the association "Fundaments for literacy and basic education. Scientific requirements for institutionalization and professionalism of literacy and basic education".
